EMS Week 1

READY TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL EMS WEEK?

This year it's more important that ever to recognize the entire Kentucky EMS family, and beyond, for the sacrifices they make in order to take care of us all and save lives, making our great Commonwealth healthier and safer, all because EMS professionals feel a calling to serve and do the selfless and often unrecognized work they do.

WHAT IS THE BACKGROUND OF EMS WEEK?

Every year the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) in partnership with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) invites leading associations, EMS services, media and sponsors to join in honoring the EMS professional by highlighting the crucial work they do in our communities. EMS Week is a national campaign bringing together local communities and medical personnel to publicize safety and honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s “front line.”

And this year, we've taken it to the next level, and localized the campaign for Kentucky's EMS Family.

So, join us and show the Commonwealth and the country that we are all better together!

WHAT ARE THE 2021 WEEK THEMES?

  • MONDAY, MAY 17: EDUCATION DAY to highlight public education programs & EMS provider education
  • TUESDAY, MAY 18: SAFETY TUESDAY to promote safety for the EMS provider, patients & the public
  • WEDNESDAY, MAY 19: EMS FOR CHILDREN DAY to highlight the special needs of caring for children
