2020 KBEMS TEI Renewal Deadline is March 31

Jan 22, 2020

Contact: Robert Andrew, Director of Education, at (859) 256-3577, or

There are 65 EMS-TEIs up for renewal in 2020, all of which expire March 31.

Please use the worksheet for your EMS-TEI classification (E-45 for Level 1 thru 4 or E-46 for Continuing Education - CE only). The mandatory equipment needed to operate an EMS-TEI (Level 1-4) can be found on the form E-12 (Level 1 TEI, Level 2 TEI, Level 3 TEI, and Level 4 TEI).  CE EMS-TEI’s are not required to comply with the mandatory equipment listed on the E-12.

EMS-TEI directors will need to complete the EMS-TEI renewal process in KEMSIS including payment by the March 31, 2020 expiration date.  The EMS-TEI renewal application is located in the KEMSIS account for the EMS-TEI.  EMS-TEI’s that have not completed the renewal process by the March 31, 2020 deadline will expire on April 1, 2020.

During the renewal process all level 1-4 EMS-TEI Directors need to check their current NREMT education program account for accuracy. All EMS-TEI's that offer initial certification courses (EMR, EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic) must have an educational program account with NREMT that has the EMS-TEI Director listed as the NREMT Program Director.  If you need to set up or make changes to your NREMT education program account contact:

Anne Weideman, Stakeholder  Specialist, National Registry of EMTs

(614) 888-4484 ext.165,

Failing to create and/or keeping the EMS-TEI NREMT education program account current will result in the NREMT education program account being suspended.  An EMS-TEI with a suspended NREMT education program account will not be eligible to offer initial EMS provider education courses.
