Position Description

This position ensures accurate and timely processing of licenses and certifications issued by the Board.

The open position is located in Lexington, Kentucky.

Major Responsibilities/Duties

  • Following Kentucky Revised Statues and Kentucky Administrative Regulations pertaining to their job function.  Receives, processes, and issues all levels of licensure and certification issued by the Board.  This includes, but is not limited to initial, renewal, reciprocity, reinstatement, and temporary applications.
  • Receives and processes all Training and Educational Institution (TEI) transactions with the Board.  This includes course applications, TEI Applications, TEI Renewals, Educator and Evaluator applications, or any other TEI related material regulated by the Board.
  • Generates professional, error-free correspondence for issues pertaining to their job function and maintains confidentiality with all information gathered or reviewed in association with the conduct of their position.
  • Provides technical assistance to customers that contact our office with questions pertaining to their licensure or certification process.  Maintain appropriate documentation and electronic files associated with the Board’s recordkeeping systems and processes.  Tracks student progress from course entry to completion of National Registry testing in order to assure timely issuance of the state licenses or certifications.
  • Attends meetings or conferences to represent the organization as may be assigned by KBEMS leadership.
  • Cross train other employees in the use of the electronic database and coordinate their actions when outside or temporary staff may assist during peak periods of activity.
  • Maintains a positive, professional workplace attitude with co-workers and business contacts and reflects a positive image of the organization.  Keeps supervisor apprised of schedule, maintains work attendance as required of the position and schedules leave time in an appropriate manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent and two (2) years relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and three (3) years relevant experience.

KY law requires state and national pre-employment background checks as a condition of employment.
