KY Board of EMS to host leadership summit in Frankfort May 23

2019 EMS LINKS to be held as part of National EMS Week

Lexington, Ky. – The Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS), in partnership with the Kentucky Office of Rural Health (KORH), announced today that it will host the 2019 EMS LINKS (Leaders in Kentucky Summit) event Thursday, May 23, in Frankfort, as part of National EMS Week.

“We are thankful for our partnership with the KORH, and this event is special because it will bring together EMS leaders, educators and administrators of the past, present and future,” said KBEMS Executive Director Michael Poynter. “Attendees will have the chance to learn about, and discuss, where the world of EMS is at currently and where it’s headed, and they’ll have an opportunity to network and share stories with others in the field.”

Registration for the event, to be held 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Buffalo Trace Distillery Elmer T. Lee Clubhouse, is open now at the 2019 EMS LINKS Event page.

Individuals can register now through May 11 to receive the $100 Early Bird rate. Those who register May 11-18 will be charged the $125 Late Registration Fee. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Presentations will focus on the skills necessary to manage day-to-day EMS operations; the latest industry trends; and tools to help organizations operate more efficiently in order to deliver improved quality patient care.

“We are excited to once again partner with KBEMS to provide this unique opportunity for EMS staff from across the Commonwealth to gather and engage in discussions about the current state of EMS and its future directions,” said KORH Director Ernie Scott. “We expect that the summit’s speakers and presentations will spark a lot of conversations that will prove beneficial to the rural communities that our EMS providers serve.”
