EMS Memorial Service to be held May 22, and

EMS Leadership Summit to be held May 23, in Frankfort

Lexington, Ky. – The Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS) will celebrate National EMS Week, May 19-25, honoring those who go ‘Beyond the Call,’ the theme of this year’s EMS STRONG campaign.

The following events will take place during National EMS Week:

Kentucky EMS Memorial Service, 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, Juniper Hills Park, Frankfort.

Hosted by the Kentucky EMS Memorial Foundation, this memorial service will take place at the Kentucky Firefighter Memorial site, adjacent to where a planned Kentucky EMS Memorial will be built in the future. The Kentucky EMS Memorial Foundation was established to honor the memory of those EMS personnel who have lost their lives in the line-of-duty in service to the Commonwealth.

EMS LINKS (Leaders in Kentucky Summit), 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, May 23, Buffalo Trace Clubhouse, Frankfort.

KBEMS, in partnership with the Kentucky Office of Rural Health (KORH), will host this event to bring together EMS leaders, educators and administrators of the past, present and future. Attendees will have the chance to learn about, and discuss, where the world of EMS is at currently and where it’s headed, and they’ll have an opportunity to network and share stories with others in the field.

Presentations will focus on the skills necessary to manage day-to-day EMS operations; the latest industry trends; and tools to help organizations operate more efficiently in order to deliver improved quality patient care.

Late registration for the event remains open until noon Wednesday, May 22. Tickets cost $125, and breakfast and lunch will be provided. A full list of speakers, topics and event partners, and a link to purchase tickets can be found here.
