Last Acceptance of NEMSIS Version 3.3.4 is June 30

Feb 7, 2018

Beginning July 1, 2018, our office will only accept incident reports utilizing National EMS Information System (NEMSIS) Version 3.4.0. This change may require coordination between Kentucky’s licensed ambulance services and their ePCR software industry partners. The purpose of this action is to allow Kentucky adequate time to successfully closeout Version 3.3.4 data to the NEMSIS Technical Advisory Center prior to their published last acceptance date of January 1, 2019.

Chapter 7, Article 540 of Kentucky Administrative Regulation Title 202 was adopted by the Kentucky General Assembly with an effective date of August 21, 2013.  The data regulation requires that licensed EMS organizations submit their run information in the most recent version of NEMSIS. Your organization must submit using Version 3.4.0 by July 1, 2018 in order to maintain compliance.

Many of Kentucky’s licensed ambulance services already submit using 3.4.0 and each ePCR software company doing business in the Commonwealth has a 3.4.0 compliant product per the information contained on the NEMSIS website. Included with this memorandum is a list of organizations setup for data importation by their software industry partners to assist in determining the agency’s status.
