Advanced EMT

The major focus of the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) is to provide basic and limited advanced emergency medical care to those patients who are in need of more care than can be offered by the EMT Basic. AEMTs function as part of a holistic EMS response and operate under medical oversight. They perform interventions with the basic and advanced equipment typically found on an ambulance.

In order to become a Licensed Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) in the state of Kentucky, you will need to apply under one of the following application types:

Promotion AEMT Initial Certification (from KY approved course)

Promotion AEMT Recertification

Promotion AEMT Reciprocity Certification

Promotion AEMT Reinstatement of Certification
